Mitigation of the climate change through planting trees is among of agenda in RWA due to various effects of climate change which happened in different countries in Africa whereby last year 2023 RWA planned to sensitize community on planting trees by facilitating its members to conduct dialogue meetings on climate change, which gave an opportunity for rural women to share the importance of planting trees as the strategy to reduce the impacts of climate change and present issues to the government relating to climate change mitigation for clarification, justification and resolution. Also RWA supported its members including Tanzania about 300 trees which was planted in three villages Nkwangu (Chunya district), Itaka and Hasamba (Mbozi district) whereby 100 trees per village.
According to different strategies which were done, it gave an opportunity for rural women to increase knowledge on the importance of planting and protecting trees, Government supported women on the provision of land; Nkwangu village (Chunya district), Ileje (Ileje district) Itaka and Hasamba villages (Mbozi district) also government conducting sensitization meetings to the community on climate change implication and mitigation in order to increase more awareness to other community members.
