Welcome to the Events Section of the Rural Women's Assembly (RWA). Here, we celebrate our strength, resilience, and leadership as rural women across Southern Africa. Our events are designed to empower, educate, and inspire, providing a platform for women to share their stories, exchange knowledge, and advocate for their rights. From community workshops to international webinars, each event is a step toward building a more equitable and sustainable future. Join us as we come together to drive positive change and amplify the voices of rural women in our region.
The SADC People’s Summit will be held between 17-18 August, under the theme: Reclaiming SADC for People’s Development- Building People Power, Voice & Agency towards Democracy & Inclusion. Approximately 200 sisters will participate in this annual commemoration.
Each year, the Rural Women’s Assembly (RWA) holds a Feminist School dedicated to advancing and strengthening rural women’s struggles against capitalism and patriarchy. This year sisters from 10 countries in Africa will participate. Stay tuned for more updates.
Feminist agroecology is integral to our struggle for food and seed sovereignty. The school through learning and exchanging knowledge, rural women aims to continue the task of transferring their knowledge about agroecology to future generations.
