On July 17, 2026 Tanzania Rural women Assembly participated the farmer field days organized by East Africa Grain Council (EAGC ) in Mbozi district at Nambala village. The Farmers Field Day brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from the agricultural sector, including government institutions, development partners, private sector organizations, research institutions, farmers’ organizations, and civil society organizations. In addition to these stakeholders, a total of six (6) rural women representing the Forum from Mbozi and Mbeya District participated in the event.
The event provided an opportunity for TRWA to exhibit seeds, engage with farmers and other stakeholders, and exchange knowledge on agro ecological approaches. The field day also served as a valuable platform for networking, learning about innovative agricultural practices, and exploring opportunities for future collaboration with organizations working to promote sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems.
Through this event; participating women increased awareness on sustainable agricultural practices and agro ecological approaches was strengthened. Also a new networking and partnership were established with organization working in Agriculture and Agro ecology, including TOAM. As a result, rural were invited to participate in the Nanenane exhibition in Dodoma to showcase their indigenous seeds varieties. TOAM also expressed its commitment to collaborate with the Forum on future initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture and agro ecological practices.
