August, 22 2024, RWA Madagascar members and other participants from various civil society organisations and a government representative were gathered around the theme: “building resilience face to Climate Change” in order to find solutions to the following key issue: human rights violation, land tenure, water issue and the alternatives to climate change itself.
The agenda was firstly focused on SAPSN role, effectiveness and the SADC as well so that there are interactions between the audience.
- Throughout the workshop; the participants who numbered 26 agreed on the fact that rural people are the most who undergo climate change impacts and even worse for the women.
- The government representative took into account that the climate funds which are meant to support communities to mitigate those effects are not always wisely used and should be fairly distributed.
- Moreover, more funds should be allocated to allow most affected countries like Madagascar which comes after Bangladesh and India to undertake further research in the field of green technologies to have a just Energy Transition.
- The participants went through group works during which they exchanged outstanding points of view from different horizons.
