Regionally marking the Global Day for Climate Justice

\"\"

Tomorrow, 6 November, for Global day for Climate Justice, the Rural Women’s Assembly will be meeting in our country chapters to connect and construct our demands using art as our medium for activism- we will be making posters, writing poetry, composing songs and writing statements of demands to our governments and the Global Polluters! This is all part of a Global Action which will be taking place as a Global Virtual Protest while the 26th UN Conference of the Parties (COP26) is taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.

We will start the day with a call to connect the region and then continue with our activities in each of the member countries. To join the opening call, please follow this link to connect with our members and to hear more about the actions across 10 countries in the SADC region.

If you are in Cape Town, we are meeting at 10 am at Parliament picketing for Climate Justice. From this location, we will also join the live stream to connect across the region. Our efforts will continue throughout the day by linking our actions to the Global Virtual Protest as our images and videos line the streets of Glasgow, Scotland; where the COP26 meetings are taking place and special screens had been elevated to amplify the voices of ordinary citizens!
