SOUTH AFRICA: Advocacy Preparations for UPR

From 20 to 22 September, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and UPR Info hosted a Strategic Advocacy Workshop for stakeholders for the upcoming United Nations’ fourth Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Norah Mlondobozi from RWA in Limpopo attended together with Celeste Engel from the Trust for Community Outreach and Education (TCOE).

The workshop outlined how stakeholders can engage in the UPR process. Norah and Celeste used the opportunity to develop an advocacy Fact Sheet. They also fine tuned RWA South Africa’s Stakeholder Statement which includes observations regarding the South African government’s implementation of UNDROP together with recommendations.
