The theme of the RWA 10th anniversary celebrations is “Towards a Transformative Feminist Agenda for the Country Side”. Over 400 rural women from across Southern Africa participated in a three day conference to celebrate, reflect and strategise for the coming period.
The overall objective of the RWA 10th anniversary was to celebrate the gains of the movement over the past 10 years in defence of the commons (land, sea, seeds, water and our eco-system), consolidate and deepen our feminist critique and analysis of the present conjuncture and advance concrete alternatives to the growing climate crises.
The programme for the 10th anniversary was very exciting and the methodology will included story-telling, cultural and spiritual expressions of mystica, case studies, presentations, film screenings. It provided a safe space for collective learning, discussions and group work.
